Were you/are you on the Win8 dev team, or are you a Microsoft employee? And, actually, the very better practice than allowing Auto-Updates would be to release a product that is stable, and not use the end user as debuggers, Microsoft has a long track record of releasing OS's before they're fully stable, and letting the end user find the flaws, security holes, etc. Also, I question if you may already be biased towards Windows 8 being a moderator on this forum, and having a Win8 logo with your signature.
